Maintenance Hacks: Mulch Harms Trees

Someone spent time and money mulching a city tree with a raised bed. This will harm the tree over time. Trees do not need mulching and if you do mulch, do not cover the base of the tree known as the foot flair. Surrounding the tree with mulch is OK but not required.
