Design Hacks: Forget all that Mulch, Build Wild Natives Understory

Took advantage of volunteer natives to build an understory (living mulch) under shrubs & trees to compete with non-native Lamium. Heart Shaped Aster (Symphyotrichum cordifolium) White Snakeroot (Eupatorium coelestinum). This can also be achieved with seeding, however nothing beats free. The trick is to get the hang of identifying this stuff.
